Johnson in the 2 hole???

after watching 2day's game, it finally hit me:

IF we're keeping soriano as our lead-off hitter (which appears to be the case) then reed johnson seems to be a great solution in the 2 hole which would then allow us to keep fukudome in the 5 hole where he seems to be VERY comfortable!!!

i've thought all along that pie finally needs a shot & i guess i still believe that BUT 2day's lineup sure looked good against one of the better pitchers in the league.

thoughts????????

He has?

177 AB in a part-time role last year and four games this year? That's "enough shots to prove himself"?

Geez. Talk about wanting immediate gratification.

LSA

You people act like every good player in MLB was excellent from Day 1 and never struggled as a youngster. Gimme a break.

Time Will Tell

I can see a more permanent change being made come June, if Pie is still scuffling and the Cubs are trailing by more than a few games in the standings. Until then I still see Felix getting the bulk of playing time unless Johan Santana or Cole Hamels is on the hill.

Sure, by June...

... if things are going as you say, Lou will make changes. (Maybe even before that.)

But not after five games.

Pie needs more time...

nice to know Johnson can step up any time though.

Unless a certain team comes a callin in the months to come wanting Pie for someone else they have to offer...I might consider that now with johnson on the team...he can hit and hustle.

Calm down.

All we are STILL saying...

...is give Pie a chance.

(Then again, if Johnson keeps producing, he could very well swipe the starting job. I can't quite decide how to feel about this yet.)

I hope

I hope some peoples knees aren't badly damaged from the jerking.

We are all waiting for that glorious October night when we finally win it all. Until then we will continue to cheer, never do the wave and hope.
